Dates: 11-14 June 2015 (4 days / 3 nights)
Cost: £900 per person (single rooms): this includes all tuition, breakfast, dinner, transport during the course and accommodation, but excludes alcohol, insurance, lunches and travel to and from our base location in the Wells-Next-The-Sea area
The North Norfolk Heritage Coast is part of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and stretches from Old Hunstanton to Weybourne. It is a dynamic landscape of sand and mud flats, dunes, shingle, saltmarsh, reedbeds and grazing marsh. The coastal area has a strong wilderness atmosphere with an internationally important and renowned bird life. It also includes the soft, eroding cliffs of glacial sands and gravels east of Weybourne, which are important geologically as well as scenically, and the rolling farmland, estates and woodland of the coastal hinterland, with important areas of heathland.
We will be staying in a comfortable hotel in the Wells-Next-The-Sea area. Hunstanton, Holkham, Morston, Blakeney and Cromer are all within easy reach. These locations are a real delight to photograph, particularly at this time of year.
The aim of the weekend is very much to help you develop your own creative vision and hone the skills to make that vision a reality.
On this course you will learn how to take beautiful landscape pictures and how to realize your photographic vision through previsualisation and solid camera technique. We will also cover some of the basics of digital image processing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
When you have booked your trip Adriaan will contact you to discuss your level of photographic experience, your objectives for the weekend and what equipment may be useful to bring along.
Over the weekend Adriaan will be on hand to provide advice on location (if and when required), and you will also have the option to participate in photography feedback sessions. During these sessions he can provide one-to-one support to address any areas of difficulty or uncertainty, to advise on composition, etc.
The cost of the 4 day / 3 night photography course is £900 per person (all single room accommodation) — this includes all tuition, breakfast, dinner, transport during the course and accommodation, but excludes alcohol, insurance, lunches and travel to and from our base location in the Wells-Next-The-Sea area.
Places are limited to eight (8) participants per course so early booking is recommended. A couple of places are available for (non-photography) partners at a reduced rate of £500; please contact Adriaan for details and availability.
All tuition will be in English.
Moderate — The course will involve a degree of walking with some of it on beaches and some of it uphill. However, many locations are easily accessible from nearby car parks so we can cater to the fitness levels of different participants to some extent.
You will need to be prepared for bad weather (for yourself and your camera) as this often provides the best conditions for landscape photography.
Contact Adriaan if you have any questions about the weekend.
